Updates:
- June 17, 2008: After over a year of downtime, the PROXY is back!
- June 11, 2008: A major oversight in the search algorythm has been fixed. There was about a 10% chance that a hash would always return negative.
Feel free to run those stubborn hashes again! Look forward to another database update this summer too!
- February 15, 2008: I've corrected the errors with SeekHash and AddHash to function properly with the new database. Previously, it was only searching the old database.
I apologize for the inconvenience. Try running those stubborn hashes through again. It'll search the new database this time!
- December 13, 2007: Sorry for the downtime, the site's hosting expired and I had to scrounge some money.
Donations are very welcome.
- December 5, 2007: Just hit 1 million cracked MD5s! GData has evolved quite far from its origins, I am both pleased and proud!
- December 5, 2007: Another update, but this one's big! GData has been updated and has grown 6.7x larger!
We're also nearing the 1 million successful lookups! So dig out all those unchecked MD5s in celebration of the update!
On a less cheerful note, donations have almost stopped coming. The entire project is now out of my own pocket. Every penny counts!
- March 14, 2007: First update in a long time: the proxy has been shut down until further notice.
It violated my host's ToS and until I can muster enough money to switch providers, it will remain down.
All donations are welcome! (See PayPal button above)
- May 24, 2006: Sorry for the lack of updates. I do have good news: the blog is back up!
- May 1, 2006: After a long struggle and a switch of hosts, GDataOnline.com is back!
Also, during the downtime, I've made an addition to the database: [a-z0-9]{5}.
- March 25, 2006: Added a new feature to the site! Web Proxy is online.
Also, the blog is back up!. Still working on getting the old entries back.
- March 16, 2006: Massive Update: GData has just passed the 100 million mark with this late update!
Two new dictionaries posted: Case Mutations and Two Word Combo.
Keep your eyes peeled for a Web Based proxy comming out soon!
- March 7, 2006: Large database update! Now over 85 million unique entries! Updates should now be more frequent.
Recently an affiliate of GData has set up a AIM Chat Bot for hashes. Chat with md5library.
- March 1, 2006: Its the first of the month and all QuickHash caps have been reset!
- Feb 20, 2006: Fixed QuickHash. Apparently when I reverted the site I forgot to reset the database path. Doh.
- Feb 1, 2006: GData is back! Firstly, I'd like to thank Akumanz, Yamikel, Remo, Amiga, and Gabby for their donations.
The site just recovered from a security breach in which much data was lost, but 95% was recovered.
Minor updates are still needed, but the site is functional. Welcome back.
If you missed it: L33t Dict
- Dec 6, 2005: Massive update. Dont miss out. QuickHash is here! HTTP Proxy is here! AutoAdd is here! (See the link)
- Nov 11-12, 2005: Massive database update. Please note that it now reads almost 28 million (*Update: Now its over 50 million).
Thats a total growth of almost 13 million! Additions include [0-9]{7}, GDict v1.1, symbols, and GDictMini + some mutations!
- Oct 30, 2005: GDict v1.1 and GDict Mini are up for download! Get them HERE.
- Oct 17, 2005: My custom made dictionary that started this all is now available for download!
Download the newest version now: GDict
Its size is 12.5mb compressed and 47mb uncompressed.
*Please note that if bandwidth gets out of hand, the link will be temporarily removed.
- Aug 28, 2005: After being slashdotted, it broke broke the crack counter. I think I have that fixed now.
I'd like to appologize for the lack of updates and posts, school started recently and it's taking priority.
In the near future, plan to expect the following: addhash.php submission mutations and a minor database upgrade.
- Aug 20, 2005: Database upgrade is complete! Small upgrades will occur more regularly now that I have
a faster method of adding hashes. Also, anti-botting methods have improved and IP's are logged.
If you are caught botting (and you will be even if its only one hit), you will be permanantly banned.
- Aug 9, 2005: I really hate to say this, but if seekhash.php continues to be botted
then I have no choice but to add a verification method. One person racked up 15,000 hits on the page.
If you have a list you want me to crack, I can do that for you.
Drop me a line at GDataOnline[at]GMail[dot]com. Send the file as an attachment with one hash per line. Thank you.
- Aug 8, 2005: Digg.com submission reaches 2000 diggs!
- Aug 1, 2005: Digg.com submission tops 1000 diggs! Thanks to all who dugg it!
- Aug 1, 2005: Digg.com submission gets its 800th digg!
- July 30, 2005: GDataOnline.com submission to Digg.com gets its 400th digg!
- July 22, 2005: Database uploaded (5.73 million unique items), site is online and ready to run.
Special thanks to Federico Lebron for being a XHTML nazi. I owe ya one.
- July 21, 2005: GDataOnline.com is bought.
Info:
GData was started by Gravix as just a project to kill time. It started off as a collection of hashes from 2 dictionaries: TheArgon (albeit cropped) and GDict (Gravix's personal dictionary).
The hashes were set up in patterns to allow for faster access time (literally over 60000 times faster than a normal hash database).
It later grew and includes CrackLib and all languages from swedish to japanese. When it was originally posted, the database contained a whopping 5.65 million unique entries
weighing in at just over 200 mb. The unexpected popularity of the project led its founder to create a website dedicated to it: GDataOnline.com.
